A celebration of Latin percussion instruments – a lecture accompanied by demonstrations by the international top Latin percussionists in Europe!
He lives, breathes and plays Cuba.
After living for several years in Cuba and the Caribbean, Nils returned to the Netherlands where he founded the Latin drumming and percussion department at the Rotterdam High School of Music.
In this unmediated meeting, Nils will introduce the audience to the Latin percussion instruments and to the different playing styles that the Caribbean Islands, and Cuba in particular, brought to Western music and the world of jazz.
Salsa, rumba, cha cha cha and bolero meet on one stage.
