50th anniversary celebrations for Menachem Golan’s ever-relevant “Kazablan“, one of the most successful Israeli films ever, which was shot entirely on the streets of Jaffa and iconic scenes from it were even shot in Old Jaffa. The film, which is based on a play by Yigal Mosinzon, deals with the social and sectarian polarization in Israel in the sixties, and was able to combine a love story with a sharp social criticism together with music and songs. Unforgettable songs came out of the movie – “All the best”, “Democracy”, “We are all Jews” and more. In honor of the 50th anniversary of the release of the film, we will hold a special Jaffa celebration at the Pisaga cinema in Old Jaffa with the stories behind the film and the screening of the film on the big screen.
Before the film, there will be a live podcast with the journalist and culture editor of GLA Inbal Gazit, who will take apart and reassemble the movie “Kazablan” and tell about behind the scenes and unforgettable moments from the movie.

חגיגות 50 שנה ל”קזבלן” הרלוונטי מתמיד של מנחם גולן, מהסרטים הישראליים המצליחים ביותר אי פעם, שצולם כולו ברחובות יפו וסצנות אייקוניות מתוכו אף צולמו ביפו העתיקה. הסרט שמבוסס על מחזה מאת יגאל מוסינזון, עוסק בקיטוב החברתי והעדתי בשנות השישים בישראל, והשכיל לשלב סיפור אהבה עם ביקורת חברתית נוקבת יחד עם מוזיקה ושירים. מתוך הסרט יצאו שירים בלתי נשכחים – “כל הכבוד”, “דמוקרטיה”, “כולנו יהודים” ועוד. לכבוד 50 שנה ליציאת הסרט, נקיים חגיגה יפואית מיוחדת בקולנוע הפסגה ביפו העתיקה עם הסיפורים שמאחורי הסרט והקרנה של הסרט על המסך הגדול.
לפני הסרט יתקיים פודקאסט לייב עם העיתונאית ועורכת התרבות של גל”צ ענבל גזית, שתפרק ותרכיב מחדש את הסרט “קזבלן” ותספר על מאחורי הקלעים ורגעים בלתי נשכחים מהסרט.

קזבלן | Kazablan
ישראל (1973)
העלילה מתרחשת ביפו של שנות השישים, הרוויה בתרבויות ומנהגי פולקלור של העולים החדשים. יוסף סימנטוב המכונה בפי חבריו “קזבלן”, בן למשפחה שעלתה ממרוקו, זכה בעת שירותו לעיטור הגבורה. אך לאחר שחרורו הוא אינו מצליח למצוא את מקומו בחברה. הוא מנהיג חבורת נערים (ה”ברילנטינים”), המציקה לתושבי השיכון ומטילה אימה על השכונה. הוא מתאהב ברחל, בתו של פלדמן הפולני, מראשי השיכון שאינו מרשה להם להתרועע יחד בשל מוצאו. במקביל, יאנוש, בעל חנות הנעלייים, המאוהב גם הוא ברחל, מנסה להפליל את קזבלן במטרה לחבל בסיכוייו לזכות בה. מנקודה זו מתפתחת ומסתעפת העלילה, כשהעירייה רוצה לפנות את תושבי השיכון ולהרוס אותו בתואנה שהוא אינו ראוי למגורים.
