We invite you to join us in commemorating the 20-year anniversary of the Mike’s Place Tel Aviv Bombing.
As we gather to remember the tragic loss of life of Dominique Hass, Ran Baron, Yanay Weiss and the bravery of those who responded to the attack, we will also honor the resilience of the Tel Aviv community and its unwavering commitment to peace and coexistence.
The ceremony will begin at 14:30 at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque and will be followed by a free screening of the film “Blues by the Beach”.
“During
the height of the Second Intifada in April 2003, two filmmakers documented the
coexistence of Jewish and Arab in the Tel Aviv blues bar, Mike’s Place. The film
highlights the vibrancy of live music, young people, and love as a counterpoint
to the endless war and terror in the Middle East. However, one tragic evening
changes the course of the documentary.”
The filmmakers
will attend the screening, and we encourage you to stay for the Q&A after
the film.
After the film, we invite you to the bar for an amazing show by the SOBO Blues Band and a celebratory toast to life.
We hope that

and standing together in solidarity for a brighter, more peaceful future.

כשאנחנו מתכנסים לזכור את אובדן החיים הטראגי של דומיניק הס, רן ברון, ינאי וייס ואומץ לבם של מי שהגיב לפיגוע, נכבד גם את חוסנה של הקהילה התל אביבית ואת מחויבותה הבלתי מעורערת לשלום ודו-קיום. הטקס יחל בשעה 14:30 ולאחריו יתקיים הקרנה חינם של הסרט “בלוז על החוף”.
בשיאה של האינתיפאדה השנייה, ישראל אפריל 2003, יוצרי קולנוע מתעדים דו-קיום בבר בלוז תל אביבי, הMike’s Place. מוזיקה חיה, צעירים ואהבה הם המוקד של הסרט ששואף להראות שיש במזרח התיכון יותר מאשר מלחמה וטרור אינסופיים. בערב טראגי אחד, המציאות מכה והופכת את מהלך הסרט.
