Moondog – A Viking street concert
In the southern part of Tel Aviv, among the narrow streets of Kiryat Hamelacha, an ensemble of musicians and singers will perform a collection of canons from “Around
the World of Sound”; written by the composer Louis Thomas Hardin, also known as Moondog!
Moondog, an American composer and performer, is considered one of the forefathers of Minimalism in music. The composer, who went blind in his youth, lived his life as a homeless musician in the streets of New York, spending
most of his time wandering around 53rd street and 6th Avenue. Because of his appearance – wearing a long robe and a Viking’s helmet – he was known as “The Viking from 6th Avenue”.

מונדוג // קונצרט רחוב ויקינגי
בין רחובות קרית המלאכה, אנסמבל של נגנים וזמרים יבצע אסופת קנונים מתוך הקובץ Around the World of Sound של המלחין לואיס תומאס הארדין, המכונה ״מונדוג״.
מונדוג היה מלחין ופרפורמר אמריקאי אשר נחשב כאחד מאבות זרם המינימליזם. היוצר שהתעוור בצעירותו, חי את חייו כמוזיקאי רחוב בניו-יורק, שם הוא בילה את מרבית זמנו בשיטוט ברחובות ובמיוחד הרחוב ה-53 והשדרה השישית. מאחר שנהג לעטות גלימה וקסדת ויקינג, הוא נודע בכינויו ‘ויקינג השדרה השישית’.
