Tel Aviv’s Documentary Film Festival Is Back!

All you film fanatics, this week is for you! The 23rd Docaviv Film Festival has arrived with over 230 screenings at 5 different venues. Tonight the festival kicks off with 20 documentaries including Israeli and international films, along with student-filmmaker competitions. 4TH OF JULY

Happy Birthday ‘Murica

Happy Independence Day to all of our American friends! Tel Aviv’s favorite American Bar Mike’s Place is hosting its Annual Fourth of July Party with live music, their famous wings and drink specials. Also on Sunday check out the big Fourth of July Party @ Kerem House. Can’t wait till Sunday? Tomorrow Democrats in Israel are hosting a BBQ in Park Hayarkon. Burning Man’s cousin is right around the corner!

The tickets are out and we’re burning with excitement! Get into the spirit with a huge fundraising party tonight by the crazy Bukraf Camp @ Art Club. Are you a Midburn virgin? It’s a party heavy weekend! Tonight a brand New Thursday @ Collabo, fall in love with Shangri Love @ Gagarin (featuring Garden City Movement), and just outside TLV there’s an outdoor rave with the Unity Festival Crew. Tomorrow save the pups with a Fundraiser Party @ Gagarin. Saturday, start the party early with Fusion Culture @ Bavel TLV, followed by a Kunty Klub Drag Show @ Kuli Alma, a Rimon student takeover @ Sputnik, and fly with Rhinos In The Sky @ Mondo 2000. Get down ‘n dirty tonight: with Dennis Lloyd @ Menorah Arena (also Sat), Full Trunk @ Barby (also Fri), bring down the roof of Gargarin with Subterranean Masquerade, and Ryskinder graces Levontin 7. Saturday: The Old Train Station becomes the Acoustic Station, Jinjer is back at B-Side, and Luna Abu Nassar takes over Tmuna Theater. Monday: Noa Drezner @ Atlas Shapira and a Reggae romp with Ronald @ The Zone. Tuesday: The legendary William Parker @ Levontin 7 for 3 nights of Jazz and Haze’evot will get Kuli Alma poppin! It’s a great week to meet new people with cool meetups for every taste!

Tonight get creative with the TINAU Arts and Craft Market @ Alfred Gallery, Boho Chic Paint Night @ Tel Aviv Art Studio, and a new urban sketching workshop. There’s two cool communal Friday night dinners: meet amazing people at international hangout Kerem House’s Italian Shabbat Dinner and Inspired Tel Aviv host a political dinner. For the rest of the week, for all your hi-tech geeks out there check out Fuckup Nights on Monday (in Hebrew), on Tuesday the Unite in Babylon Singing Circle returns to Habima, and Desire Bar hosts a Drag Quiz on Wednesday.
