Batucaza, Israeli “batucada” live drumming, and the Brazilian Cultural Center invites you to the commemoration of the Brazilian Independence Anniversary (September 7) in a short presentation on Brazilian drumming, on Thursday, September 5th, 19:30 at the Brazilian Cultural Center: 57 Sderot Hen, 1st Floor, Tel Aviv. After that, at 20:00-21:00, we will go to Rabin Square and experience Brazilian samba live (about 20 musicians). Free entrance.
The presentation, in Hebrew, includes an introduction to Batucada drums (Surdo, caixa, Repique, etc.), Brazilian rhythms (Samba with different influences) and famous Brazilian bands (Olodum, Ile aye and others). We will learn the Brazilian rhythm using the “O Passo”, a method developed by Lucas Chitava, understanding the Samba rhythms. After a short presentation, at 20:00-21:00, we will go to Rabin Square and experience Brazilian samba with a live drumming show (about 20 musicians).
