Batsheva Ensemble Dancers Create 2019: MELANIN

Works created and performed by Batsheva – the Young Ensemble’s dancers, Season 2018-19
70 minutes without intermission.

The evening will be split in to 2 programs: MELANIN I & MELANIN II, both will be presented each evening:
Thu-Sat, June 27-29, Varda Hall, Suzanne Dellal Centre.

“Melanin is the pigment in the body that determines the color of skin, hair, and eyes. It is a fundamental element, expressed in our genetic makeup, just as the necessity of self expression is vital to us. In this year’s workshops, we aspire to refine the unique color of each creator and to discover these pigments in a collective whole.”

Batsheva is committed to the cultivation and support of young emerging talent. The annual Batsheva Dancers Create project provides the dancers with a production framework and resources to create and present their own work.

The “Batsheva Dancers Create” project is supported by the Michael Sela Fund for Cultivation of Young Talent at Batsheva.
