Maya Gallery - Shvil Hamerets 2, Tel Aviv,

The exhibition “Paintings in the Right Hand and Left Hand” is devoted to the work of Zvi Meirovich (1911-1974), one of the fathers of abstraction in Israeli painting. The exhibition takes a look at his art – from his early paintings, through his major works, to his later paintings. A stroke left Meirovich paralyzed in his right half, and he moved to paint with his left hand. This crucial passage contains additional dichotomies such as figurative-abstraction, spirituality, art-Judaism, secular-religiosity-movements that shed light on the artist’s entire work.

Curator: Ron Bartosh The gallery will also feature an artist’s wall of Gilad Efrat
