Tigran Khamisian, a pianist / composer / sorcerer from Armenia, has been on the rise in recent years and is considered without a shadow of a doubt for one of his greatest jazz / rock. Powerful combinations of jazz improvisations combined with elements taken from ancient Armenian poetry with the addition of a strong groove and Adji brought to the world An Ancient Observer, the second and eighth solo album of the 31-year-old virtuoso.

Tegran’s extensive career contains some impressive accolades. In 2013 he won the Best Pianist Award at the Monterey Jazz Festival, a few years earlier in 2006 he won a prestigious prize in the Talinius Monk Competition.

In 2015 he won the German Grammy [Echo] in the album category of the year with Mockroot, a few weeks later NPR claimed it was the most special artist who broke the boundaries of jazz.
