Too noisy to die – an alternative Israeli rock evening from the 90s.
The Scattered Sky of a Postcard, Chen Chenberg’s excellent documentary about the band of bearers of the hat is celebrating 20 years and this is a great reason to celebrate Israeli Doco films on the alternative music scene of the beautiful Nineties. In the course of one evening, 4 fascinating docu films will be screened and a panel will be attended by some of the directors and subsequent film participants will have a session of questions and answers from the audience.
Films to be screened:

Plastic Venus: noise quietly
QUIET NOISE
Directed by Nir Bergman
“They do not let us make noise quietly,” says Ronit Bergman, defiantly, in resignation, perhaps in disappointment. And the sister of Nir Bergman (“Broken Wings”), the director of the film that documents one of the most important nuisance bands operating here (and there …). A fascinating document about an Israeli rock culture that was and is not, about a struggle lost in advance for artistic recognition, about the difficulty of swimming against the current and in the direction of distortion.

Red Black Blue White
RED VIBES
Directed by Duki Dror
As teenagers, they foresaw the collapse of the Soviet Union, immigrated to Israel, and discovered that it, too, was approaching social and political chaos. In response, they created the theory of black communism that they spread in music. The punk-trash band Auswys managed to shock even the Hebrew Skynhades in the song Death. A hallucinatory film about music and art in the subculture of the Russian ghetto in Israel.

The film follows the character of Kobi Or on his walks through the streets, in record shops and books, and his attempt to change his life, to detach himself from art, from self expression and words, and to nurture daily life through his various encounters with friends and acquaintances.
