Exhibition Opening Avishai Paltak

III leaving
With the participation of Nava Frenkel
Curator: Yael Kini

Exhibitions usually refer to finished products. This exhibition seeks to give the stage in a complete manner, to prepare for and what is happening in preparation for; This interlude between time and time. Avishai Paltak, who is mainly associated with painting and Nava Frenkel, who is mainly a theater artist, joined together to examine the seam between the two mediums and to deal with issues that are vital to both.

The exhibition will feature four video films made by both and sixteen small oil paintings on Avishay Paltak’s canvas. The videos highlight ceremonies or games that define the field of work in the specific work, in a way that also has humor. For example, the two poke blackened hands as an exit signal for joint action of blackening the floor. She lay and lay in a meticulous and meticulous pace. Like a rock or like blackening and maybe preparation, like making a canvas for a new painting. In this way, the film examines different substrates for painting – such as the palms themselves and in different ways, such as the face. The evidence itself and the field of vision are examined, and the painting as physical activity.

The paintings that will be exhibited in the exhibition all refer to light, time, rapid movement and temporality. Seven works are called ‘Night in the Kibbutz’, each with a flashlight that casts a single light in the corner of the kibbutz. And in the other seven, Sha’ar Hagai appears in each animal in rapid motion. Works based on night and black and white photography, flat and with few details. ‘Leaving 3’ is the third exhibition that relates in different ways to leaving the gallery expected at the end of the year. Thus the works themselves, their dispersion and hanging in the gallery intend to create a place of transition and abandonment, as well as an opportunity for a fresh and fresh examination of things and concepts related to artistic activity.
