Romano - Derech Yafo 9, Tel Aviv, FREE

Our joint summer series with Lev Cinema reaches its final chapter. As it has done so far, the Romano amphitheater will turn into a huge outdoor cinema – chairs spread out in the square, and a huge screen – on which a perfect movie is screened, accompanied by pizza, popcorn and cold beer. And this time, to the end of the series, we chose a particularly fun movie – Moonlight Kingdom – the sweet little masterpiece by the brilliant American director Wes Anderson

About the film

Somewhere in a small island in the northeast of the United States, in the mid-1960s, innocence before Vietnam and flower children, a group of American Scout children leaves for summer camp, including Sam, a bespectacled and wise man of his age who has lost his parents in an accident and lives temporarily with a foster family. This summer, after meeting Susie, who lived on the island with her dysfunctional parents and three brothers, a year ago, they had written letters as only children could, detailing a joint escape – a plan they carried out with a canoe, military penknife, Working on batteries, a suitcase full of books and a cat

Following the chase, the local sheriff (Bruce Willis), an elderly and lonely bachelor, a junior scout (Edward Norton), the conflicted parents of Susie (Francis McDormand and Bill Mary), the Social Services (Tilda Swinton) And a group of faithful scouts

On the thin line between fantasy and reality, pharmacist Anderson is a funny, heart-warming fairy tale touching the last moments of childhood and the power of young love, one that adults seem to tend to forget and disparage, portraying an honest portrait of adults as only children and children see it
