Women, children and men, Africans and non-Africans, are invited to join us on Friday 9th March 2018, for a peaceful march of solidarity, spear-headed by the brave women who dare to stand up to injustice: to say NO to deportation and to demand recognition of the refugee community.

International Women’s Day is a day we celebrate the crucial role and voice of women in the world. Not only is it a day in which we celebrate the countless accomplishments women have achieved in and since obtaining equal rights, it is also a day on which we highlight the crucial role women contribute to activism and advocacy for human rights at a global level.

This year, International Women’s day in Tel Aviv will recognize the courage and resilience of female asylum seekers and refugees, and their journeys to freedom. As women, we are marching to demand dignity and recognition for the entire refugee community; for our husbands, brothers, sons and friends.

It is our responsibility to give voice to those that have none. Israeli policy set in motion the deportation process for thousands of asylum seekers and refugees who have fled war and persecution, desperately seeking protection and amnesty in Israel.

We will all walk together, side-by-side, a strong and unified voice to say NO to deportation and YES to a change in Israeli policy and recognition of the refugee community.

As a force of strength and change in this country, we will not stand silent.
