Asia and Wicca are the mother and daughter of animals living side by side, close but distant. Asia, who became a mother at too young an age, has a hard time understanding and accepting the adolescent Vika. She prefers to focus on her work as a nurse while her daughter spends most of her time in a skate park with her friends. As Vika’s health deteriorates, the two are given the opportunity to rediscover each other, and Asia will try to become whether Vika so needs her

“Asia” is a film by Ruthie Perry-Bar, an exciting drama with a touching direction and two memorable acting performances by Shira Haas and Alona Yves. The film won three awards at the Tribeca Festival, swept the Ophir Awards ceremony with no less than 9 wins including the best film, and was Israel’s representative at the 2021 Oscars.
