Agua de La Vida – Water of Life
an encounter with Carmen Vicente
The waters are the source of our life, the source of all life.
Que siempre sea esa agua, la que conduce los pasos de cada uno de nosotros
agua de las grandes decisiones de la vida
agua que nos hace decidir
cuales son los pasos
que queremos dar
May this water always be she who conducts each of our steps
Water of the great decisions of life
Water which brings us to decide
we would like to take
We were conceived when the waters of each of our fathers planted the seed of our life in the womb of our mother. We are given the gift of life through the presence of the water.
In this evening, Carmita will guide us in a ceremony honoring the spirit of the water, the source of life. Her words transform into prayer, into poetry, into a vibration that reaches the depths of the hidden places in our hearts.
A few words about Carmita:
Carmen Vicente is a medicine woman from the Andes mountains, originally from a community near the border between Ecuador and Peru. She carries an ancient sacred tradition from the Andes. For over 50 years, she has dedicated her life to the autonomy of indigenous peoples and practices. She has worked with an amazing variety of people including tribes from the Amazon, homeless people, prisoners in Quito and many others. Recently, her work has focused on women and youth, and particularly with people who live in urban areas. Her work encourages personal reflection, motivation and clarity, especially with regard to each of our personal destinies upon this earth.
The encounter will begin at 5pm on the 15th of October. We will sit under the stars, please bring something warm to wear.
