Verner Tel Aviv - Zeev Tiomkin 2, Tel Aviv,

Verner Tel Aviv Shop and Oh So Arty are happy to present their first collaboration in a series of three art events.

Verner, the fashion boutique which brings cutting-edge brands and trends to the Israeli audience is now providing a stage within their space right in the heart of Tel Aviv, for emerging artists to show their work. Each of them will explore the store’s space and concept, breaking and bringing together different disciplines such as Art, Fashion and Architecture. The store will offer a meeting point for these ideas.

The project is curated by Sarah Peguine, art advisor and founder of the art tours platform and magazine Oh So Arty.

The first event is an intervention within the space of Verner, by young artist Vera Vladimirsky, who works with the medium of photography. The pieces on the walls, windows and exterior spaces come from her series “Paper Walls”. These unique and powerful images which Vladimirsky took of very typical Israeli plants and flowers are reminiscent in their aesthetic and presentation, as paper walls, of the artist’s personal autobiography, having immigrated from Ukraine to Israel as a child. Through these pieces, Vladimirsky invites the visitors and shoppers to linger, look and ponder their own identity and story.

Vera Vladimirsky was born in 1984 in Kharkiv, Ukraine. She lives and works in Tel Aviv, holds a B.F.A. (cum laude), from the Department of Photography, Bezalel Academy of Art & Design in Jerusalem. She has participated in exhibitions in Israel and abroad (UK, Slovenia, Germany and more) and has had residencies such as the Fountainhead Residency in Miami, Florida. She is also the recipient of the 2016 Israeli Ministry of Culture prize for a “Young Artist”. She is currently enrolled at the M.F.A program of the Bezalel Academy.
