Are you ready to celebrate World Oceans Day with a Trash Talk?
Plastic Free Israel is teaming up with Aharai – Youth Leading Change and Trashtag IDC for a second round of Trash Talk!
If you haven’t heard about this amazing initiative, Trash Talk is a the concept of cleaning a beach and paying with trash for food and drinks!
The cleanup will be until 11:00 At the end of all the cleaning we will raffle some eco friendly prizes from our sponsors! After that stay with us until 12:00 to hear a bit about plastic, hang out and enjoy a free yoga session at the beach!
On World Oceans Day we show love to our seas and oceans and thank them for making our lives possible! They gave us life on this planet! And in return at least 8 million tons of plastic ends up in our oceans every year, and make up 80% of all marine debris from surface waters to deep-sea sediments. Cleaning the beaches and always leaving a cleaner place behind us should be the norm, but what will really clean the beaches is education and awareness of plastic pollution and it’s consequences on our environment and our lives and from there reducing its usage and consumption.
We will meet in the small beach in Midron Jaffa Park, meeting location and ways to get there and post for asking/offering rides will be posted few days before.
Come prepared – sunscreen, hat, water and sturdy shoes. The rest is on us!
Bring family, kids,friends, co workers, dogs – everyone is welcome!
