Dizzy Frishdon - Dizengoff 112, Tel Aviv,

Eran Schmidt, the project’s deputy project manager and head of the SpaceIL project, will share with us the story of the Israeli spacecraft from its earliest days until the moment it crashed on the moon.

In the course of the lecture, Eran will discuss the following questions, including:

Why have only three countries so far landed on the moon? Why is it so complex, and what is the economic scope of such a project?

What were the challenges facing the program’s staff, which he spent most of his life in a small cramped room?

What are the major lessons and successes of the project?

How and why did it crash in the beginning?
