** DATES FOR 2019 TO BE CONFIRMED **
Here’s a unique opportunity to dive in to the LGBT community, with great films and shows meant to raise awareness for the gay community. TLVFest usually coincides with Pride Week, and is a celebration of all LGBT films and documentaries from around the world! There are also smaller events throughout the year.
TLVFest 2017 was marvellous, we hosted the legendary actress Mink Stole from John Waters movies, the groundbreaking feminist director Monika Treut, the YouTube phenomenon Gigi Gorgeous, the actor Zachary Booth from the film “After Louie” and RuPaul’s Drag Race winners Jinkx Monsoon and Sharon Needles.
In the past few years TLVFest had the pleasure to host many of the queer cinema industry’s most innovative minds. Our guests have included: Alan Cumming, Lea DeLaria (Orange is the New Black), Jonathan King (producer of Dreamgirls, Lincoln, Spotlight and many more), Buck Angel (Sexing the Transman), Venice Golden Lion award filmmaker Lorenzo Vigas (From Afar / Desde Allá), Bruce La Bruce, Wieland Speck & Michael Stütz (Berlinale Panorama), Kim Yutani (Sundance), Jay Brannan (Shortbus), Jamie Babbit (But I’m a Cheerleader), Angela Robinson (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women), Joey Arias, Cheryl Dunye (The Watermelon Woman), Mark Christopher (Studio 54), Alanté Kavaïté (The Summer of Sangaile), Daniel Ribeiro (The Way He Looks), Sara Jordenö, Gia Love & Christopher Waldorf (KIKI) and many more.
We expect this year’s festival to be even bigger, click here for a full listing of the films and guests.
