At the beginning of 2019 SpaceIL will launch its mission to land on the moon. This mission, which will be the first of its kind in the world for a private organization, symbolizes the progress and scientific and technological capabilities of Israel. SpaceIL’s other goal is to educate science and technology, and the organization leverages its engineering mission to educational inspiration for children and youth in Israel. In the lecture you will hear about the development challenges that the engineering team faced during the project, and about the preparations for the launch and the mission itself.

The lecture will take place at the Lev Auditorium, Faculty of Exact Sciences, Tel Aviv University.
After the lecture we will have a short astronomical observation, depending on the weather conditions.
