After 11 years, 22 films and billions of dollars at the box office – Marvell’s cinematic universe is undoubtedly a unique phenomenon in the history of cinema that many want to imitate and all have failed. Through two different angles, we will try to understand Marvell’s secret of success that has put her in the top for so many years – and will they stop?

 

Lecture # 1: Was Thanos Right? – The good and the bad in Marvell’s cinematic universe in

 

comics and movies (and unlike life) the division between good and evil is clear and simple: one wears white and the other black; It wants to hurt people for no reason and the other wants to save them and more. It’s customary to visit the Marvel movies as a formality and if you saw one you saw them all. The good guys and the harps are not interesting. In the lecture, Rotem Yifat will demonstrate how layers are discovered in the cinematic world of Marvel, which reveals a more complex double standard, in which it is much less clear who is good and who is evil.

Lecture # 2: Dark Knights and Black Panthers

 

This lecture will focus on one of Marvell’s most successful films and the fourth best movie ever made in the United States: The Black Panther from 2018. The film also won three Academy Awards including music and design.

 

In his lecture, talk Avner Shavit on the role of African-American community movies superheroes over the years, and dive for use in fantasies comics American cinema of discourse on political and social topicality and roots of African American.
