You are invited to the first meeting of the Philosophical Salon and the “Israeli Artists” community at Beit Ariela.
We will start of course with Passion.
Eros, the power of passion and creativity, has occupied Western culture since its inception in ancient Greece. In Greek mythical thinking, which held that the world was created or formed and was not created by a transcendent god, Eros was perceived as a force born out of himself and generated the initial movement of life formation out of the initial chaos.
Dr. Ira Avnery – a playwright, artistic consultant, researcher and creator in the fields of philosophy, theater, performance and dance will talk to us about the connection between philosophy and passion, as expressed in the “Feast” to Plato; On how Socrates embodies (ostensibly) the true eroticist, who climbs the ladder of love – from the desire for the beautiful body to the desire for the pure form of beauty.
Conducted by Camila Luzinski Malach and Rei Dishon, directors of the “Israeli Artists” community, we will follow Plato and the desire for co-creation for the philosophical journey and in fact art, and we will hold a contemporary philosophical-artistic feast.
