About the exhibition –

We live in a world where stress and estrangement are part of our daily life: at work, at school, and even while walking down a street – there is a feeling that society wants us to keep a level of self-control and detachment from ourselves or from the person we would want to be. Man in the modern world is considered to be a model for speed, strength, productivity and self-control. Fully determined and therefore emotionally detached. Is that who you are? Is that who you’d like to be?

In this exhibition you are expected to forget all limitations and socially accepted constraints and “dive into” each and every one of your inner children – to enjoy a feeling of innocence and mischief, and to veil yourselves with a coat of optimism and joy. At the same time you should allow yourselves to feel pain, loss, and any other feeling that might be considered negative, because the inner child is not necessarily something sweet or happy, it is a connection to our cleanest form of individual truth without barriers and other emotional constraints we pick up as we grow older.

‘The Child Within’ is a group exhibition where each artist gives it a unique individual interpretation. An alternative to the way we look at the world is shown here through the art pieces – a clean and pure world, void of judgement, since in the eyes of a child that world is a utopia where race, religion, and gender have no meaning.
