About the Film
At age 98, director Arnon Goldfinger’s grandmother passed away, leaving him the task of clearing out the Tel Aviv flat that she and her husband shared since immigrating to Palestine from Nazi Germany in the 1930s. In this emotionally riveting documentary, Goldfinger follows the hints they left behind in a lifetime’s collection of documents and uncovers the mystery of his grandparents’ painful past. Winner of 15 film awards including the Tribeca Film Festival and The Israeli Academy for best documentary (“Ophir”).

About our Speaker
Arnon Goldfinger is an Israeli director, scriptwriter and producer, and a winner of two Israeli Academy Awards (“Ophir”) for Best Documentary. His Documentary films The Flat and The Komediant have been successful in Israel and abroad, were awarded with numerous prizes, and had theatrical releases and TV broadcasts in many countries. Goldfinger has taught in the leading Israeli film schools, today he lectures at the Steve Tisch School for Film and Television at the Tel Aviv University.
