In the distant future, Earth is at war with a race of giant alien insects. Little is known about the insects except that they are intent on exterminating all human life. Paul Verhoeven’s film (Fateful Memory, Basic Instinct) follows the adventures of high school friends who contribute their fighting skills to the war against giant cockroaches that threaten to destroy humanity. What begins as a satire on the war, soon turns into a bloody vision with critical markers, with, above all, the hormone-saturated atmosphere of “Beverley Hills 90210”.
