Malan 18 - Malan 18, Tel Aviv, FREE

We at The Stage – Slam Series want to help you gain confidence, experience, and practice, in order to encourage new voices in our poetry community!

This is the first time we’ll be hosting this kind of writer’e meetup! The goal is that you come with your stories or poems – done, halfway done, or just-started-tonight – and get feedback, advice, some practice performing, and encouragement.

The night will be led by Naomi Henoch and will be a friendly environment where you can share worries, concerns, poetry, prose, emotions and fears, and hopefully receive some help with all the above!

Free attendance (though please buy a drink, since we will be sitting at a lovely bar) and free advice, lots of fun, and hopefully the confidence you’ll need to share your art with the public!

Any and all voices are welcome. We’ll be hanging out from 19:30 until around 21:15, later if there’s demand. Can’t wait to see you there!

Do you wish you had the raw confidence of Jonah Hill taking the stage to perform an improvised, loud, unintentionally deep poem about a dead girl he never met? Do you stay up late at night haunted by the deep desire to perform poetry, hindered only by your stage-fright and that overly-critical voice that won’t let you sign up? Do you toss and turn, saying “if only I wasn’t so scared of the 1 – 10 score! If only I was brave enough to perform! Cynthia!”

… or maybe not. Maybe you just want to write a poem and feel good about it (or at least halfway okay) and maybe if you had more practice and experience with poems you felt good about you would feel confident enough to share your work with your friends, or even (possibly!) perform at a slam!
