Wed 4 September 2019 | 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm
Cafe Shapira - Ralbag 15, Tel Aviv,

On Wednesday, 4.9, we will screen Cafe Shapira’s film “Zelda, A Simple Woman,” from the “Hebrews” series and directed by Yair Kidder.

After the film, there will be an open conversation and reading poetry with the poet and “poetry agent” Hadas Gilad – who is also a resident of the neighborhood.

More about the movie:
Although Zelda first published a book of poetry at the age of 53, she was immediately a first-rate poet, a cousin of the Lubavitchs Rebbe, a modest religious woman whose little way out of her home,
she gathered a court of fans and lovers around her.
Although she did not grow up in literary yards, she designed a unique and wonderful self-language of unparalleled poetry – the poetry of poet Zelda, one of the more mysterious figures of Hebrew culture.
Thirty years after her death, through archival footage from the 1970s, unpublished diaries and conversations with Zelda’s inner yard, the magnificent portrait of the poet who called herself a simple woman is drawn.
