Sami Birenbach, soloist and founder of the Minimal Compact band, known among eclectic enthusiasts as the DJ Morpheus, has since 1981 led a steady stream of unique and inspirational musical projects and works, character and powerful aesthetics.

The new project “Lonely Words” is a continuation and development of the “Meitar” project of 2017, which was produced by AP where Sami collaborates with established musicians in Paris – drummer Herveh Nahamo and acclaimed producer Alex Pinkin.
The new project “Lonely Words” was added by guitarist Jean Michel Pro and multi-instrumentalist Simon Benon and the fruit of their joint work is a full-length album (LP) to be released on all platforms and vinyl record on 20 June 2019 under the French label Nofet. The release of the album will be accompanied by a festive performance for the launch of the area club on the same date.

The album features nine tracks of 7 original songs with texts by the poet Meir Goldberg, with the exception of the song “To Siman Ahava” which was written by Sami in the 60s and survived to this day without melody.
The music was composed and recorded by all members of the ensemble at Minimal Studios in Paris. The album also features two cover versions of “Ibarak Aicha” and the liturgical poem “Karev Yom” from the 6th century.

The connection between the poetry of Meir Goldberg and a musical world that combines a tribute to the dark 80s, post-punk, new Wave, alternative rock and even techno gives this album an authentic scent and an opportunity to enjoy again and again a unique and thrilling sound of Sami telling us, in Hebrew, An infinity of time and existence.
