Haezor - 13 HaRechev St, Tel Aviv, 50 NIS

Following a video cover project by Alon Glesinger and Raz Ezra, the show Refavela is premiering, dedicated to the Brazilian singer Gilberto Gil. Gil, the founder of the Tropicalismo in Brazil of the late 60s, combines traditional Brazilian music with African and Caribbean music.

Alon and Raz’s project, which started in an attempt to score tickets to Gil’s concert in Israel, lead to enthusiastic responses, and the decision to produce a live show. While working on the initial project, a group of talented musician and close friends assembled to bring it to life.

The show is named after one of Gil’s iconic albums, representing the beginning of his journey with traditional African music. The show will consist of songs recorded as part of the project, alongside other (Brazilian) surprises.
