What is Purim?
Purim is a Jewish Holiday that celebrates the salvation of the Jewish people from being destroyed. Celebrations include dressing up and “drinking until you can tell wrong from right”, which makes it some of the craziest parties in Israel! Although Purim only lasts one day, expect to see people dressed up in the streets all week long.
People in Tel Aviv take dressing up very seriously, check out the Best Purim Costumes of Purim 2017 and Best Purim Costumes 2018.
Traditions of Purim
In Purim the main traditions are dressing up, reading the Meguilah and drinking until you can’t anymore, if you are looking for a Synagogue to hear the Meguilah reading, check out or Olim Friendly Synagogues in Tel Aviv guide.
