Speaker Bios:
Sima Shine is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS). Aside from recent involvement in diplomatic contacts on the Iranian Issue, she previously served as Deputy Director General for the Iranian File at Israel’s Ministry of Strategic Affairs (2009-2015) and Deputy Head of the National Security Council for Strategic Affairs (2008-2009). She spent most of her professional life in the intelligence community: IDF Intelligence Corps (Amman) and the Mossad, where she served as Head of Research in the Intelligence Division (2003-2007). Ms. Shine holds an M.A. in political science and security studies, a B.A. in Middle East studies, and is a graduate of the National Security College.

Dr. Raz Zimmt is a Research Fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) specializing in Iran as well as at the Alliance Center for Iranian Studies at Tel-Aviv University, the Doron Halpern Middle East Network Analysis Desk (MENAD) at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies, and at the Forum for Regional Thinking. He is the editor of “Spotlight on Iran,” published by the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center. His main research interests are the politics, foreign relations, society & social media of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He holds a master’s degree and a PhD in Middle Eastern history from Tel-Aviv University, where his dissertation focused on Iranian policy towards Nasserism and Arab radicalism between 1954 and 1967.
