Pnei Shabbat Kabbala – Kabbalat Shabbat with piyyutim from Sephardic and Ashkenazi communities
A moment before Shabbos we gather for a moving circle of poetry and a shared experience of connection to the soul. We will embark on a joint journey in time and space, with piyyutim written and composed hundreds of years ago and piyyutim written or composed in recent decades, from the poem “Lecha Dodi” written by Rabbi Shlomo HaLevi Elkabetz in Sephardic melodies from Bulgarian Jewry to Shalom Aleichem.
