Welcome to the first Annual Midburn Foundation Art Conference — set on “David’s Ranch” in Ein Vered,
the geographical and spiritual home of the Israeli Midburn Community. Our goal is to create fruitful connections, collaborations and dialogues between various artists from both the Burner community and local and international art worlds. The conference will expose the Midburn Project to an international audience, from a look at both the work that is taking place at the Midburn event and the playful and unrestricted creative space available there. We will discuss different methodologies, concepts and frameworks in which we create and operate. In connection to this, we will examine some artistic and scientific discourse on environmental and community art both here and around the world.

Artists of every stripe, burners or not, and anyone working in cultural fields connected to the topic both in Israel and abroad. The first conference can accommodate up to 270 participants.
)'( What about the conference? )'(
The conference will consist of lectures, presentations by artists and researchers in various mediums from within the community, professional panels, performances, a stabilization exhibition, workshops, collective work, a panel discussion with the Foundation’s art committee and a new multidisciplinary grant. Some of the topics and concepts that we will address at the conference include: placemaking, community art, public art, art and technology, interactive art, and more.
)'( About the Midburn Foundation – The Art of Radical Inclusion )'(
In conjunction with the creation of the Midburn Association at the end of 2012, the Art Foundation (now the Midburn Foundation) was established. Every year, Midburn allocates part of their annual income from the event to support art. This is in addition to the budget that comes from fundraising for art that happens through various channels throughout the year. In order to distribute the financial resources in a controlled, professional and transparent manner (and because the financial resources available to the Foundation are limited) the Midburn Foundation established an Art Foundation. The purpose of the Art Foundation is to assist and support the artists who wish to participate in the event. During its five years of activity, the foundation has distributed 1.8 million NIS to more than 400 art installations.

אנו שמחים לשתף אתכם בכנס האמנות הראשון של קרן מידברן.
מטרת הכנס היא ליצור חיבורים מפרים, שיתופי פעולה והחלפת רעיונות בין אמנים שונים הפועלים בקהילת הברן ובשדה האמנות המקומי והעולמי. הכנס יהווה חשיפה פומבית בינלאומית של פרויקט מידברן מנקודת מבט על היצירה שמתרחשת בו, ויבחן את מרחב היצירה המשחקי ונטול המעצורים המתאפשר באירוע מידברן. נדון במתודולוגיות, תפיסות, מושגים ומסגרות שונות בהן אנו יוצרים ופועלים, ונקביל אותם לשיח האמנותי המחקרי והביקורתי סביב אמנות סביבתית וקהילתית.

בכנס הראשון אנו ערוכים עד 270 משתתפים.

הכנס יורכב מהרצאות, פרזנטציות של אמנים יוצרים וחוקרים במדיומים שונים מתוך הקהילה או ברוחה, פאנלים מקצועיים, הופעות, תערוכת מייצבים, סדנאות, יצירה קולקטיבית, פאנל הכרות עם הלקטורה של הקרן, ולראשונה יושק מענק חדש לאמנות רב תחומית. חלק מהנושאים והמושגים בהם אנו נעסוק בכנס הם: פלייסמיקינג (placemaking) אמנות קהילתית, אמנות ציבורית, אמנות טכנולוגית ומייקרים, אמנות אינטרקטיבית, ועוד.
)'( אודות קרן מידברן – The Art of Radical Inclusion )'(
במקביל להקמת עמותת מידברן בסוף שנת 2012 הוקמה קרן האמנות (כיום קרן מידברן). כל שנה מקצה מידברן חלק מתקציב ההכנסות מהאירוע לתמיכה באמנות, וזאת בנוסף לתקציב המגיע מגיוס כספים לאמנות המתקיים באפיקים שונים לכל אורך השנה. על מנת לחלק את המשאבים הפיננסים שיגויסו בצורה מבוקרת, מקצועית ושקופה, ומכיוון שמהמשאבים הפיננסים העומדים לטובת העמותה מוגבלים, הקימה העמותה קרן אמנות שמטרתה לסייע ולתמוך באמנים המבקשים להשתתף באירוע. במהלך חמשת שנות פעילות הקרן חולק סך של 1.8 מיליון שקלים ל-390 מיצבי אמנות.
בשנה האחרונה החלה הקרן בתהליך של מעבר מ”קרן אמנות מידברן” ל”קרן מידברן” עם כניסת תחום העשיה החברתית.
