Yaara Shaulian’s velvet voice lucidly blends the ancient rhythms of the Middle East with psychedelic synths. Her Persian bloodline is its pulse, which she delicately negotiates from her ancestral past through to new frequencies. Whilst her lyrical quality shimmers the wisdom of Persian poetry; Indian flutes and Ethiopian beats move the body as Israel’s diversity is spoken through her sound.

Shaulian is moved by the sophistication and class of classical Persian singers such as Hayedeh and Mahasti and her musical influences reach West as she relishes in the Scandinavian peculiarities of Bjork and Todd Terje.

During the past 2 years, Shaulian has been working with the producer Lenny Ben Basat (Avishai Cohen, Riff Cohen) creating her debut album to be released in 2019. together with her band comprised of Israel’s most talented young musicians, she creates a show that is filled with upbeat groove and emotion.
