NBN Young Professionals Sukkot Tiyul – Shvil Yisrael in Commemoration of Hadar Goldin z”l

Hadar Goldin z”l was an IDF Officer who fell during Operation Protective Edge in the summer of 2014 and whose remains are still held in Gaza today. It was Hadar’s dream to hike the Israel Trail (Shvil Yisrael) upon his release from the Army. Hadar’s close family and friends every Chol Hamoed hike part of the trail in remembrance and celebration of Hadar. They have invited NBN Olim to join them this Sukkot for this year’s Tiyul.
The hike will be taking place in the North near Tsfat. We will be starting the hike at Mount Meron, then stop for lunch at the Sechvi Pools, and finish at `En Koves.

There will be no Sukka access since we will be out hiking the entire time.

The hike is medium difficulty and will be about 6.5 KMs.
Upon completion of the hike, Hadar’s friends have organized a small activity of learning, singing and a small Tekes to end the day.

Please make sure to bring 3L of water, snacks, lunch, hat, sunscreen, and good shoes for hiking.

Cost: 25 NIS.

Schedule:
9:30: Arrival at the חניון העיקול in Meron; beginning of the Hike.
12:00: Lunch at the Sechvi Pools with מעגלי שיח faciliated by Hadar’s friends. Lunch will include learning and discussions focused on a specific value. There will be one circle conducted in English.
17:00: Singing together Israeli songs and conclusion at `En Koves.
18:30: Approximate conclusion of the day

Bus transportation will be provided from Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Givat Shmuel and Ra’anana.
Jerusalem Bus Details: Will be leaving at 6:30 AM from Binyenai Hauma, by the payphone next to the main entrance gate on Shazar BLVD 22.
Givat Shmuel Bus Details: Will be leaving at 6:45 AM from the main entrance gate of Bar Ilan, across from the Aroma.
Tel Aviv Bus Details: Will be leaving at 6:45 AM from the Arlozorov Train Station.
Ra’anana Bus Details: Will be leaving at 7:00 AM from Tzomet and Park Ra’anana.

Prepare for a very fun and meaningful experience hiking and meeting some amazing people, both Olim and Israelis. Please be aware everything will be done in Hebrew. It’s going to be a very long, but most definitely rewarding day! You should be home between 21:00-22:00.
