Moroccan Movie Nigh at the Anna Loulou!

The French- Moroccan film “Much Loved” (2015) depicts the survival story of 4 Moroccan women in Marrakesh’s prostitution industry and highlights several aspects of their reality: the complex relationship with their nuclear families which involves shame and rejection on the one hand and financial dependency on the other, violence from clients, drugs and alcohol addiction and police brutality.

The film was forbidden from screening in Morocco, raised a public uproar and led its star, Loubna Abidar, to escape the country after she was attacked by a group of men in Casablanca for participating in the provocative film. This realistic film does not only shatters the romantic image of prostitution victims in the country but also addresses other forms of gender based violence such as pedophiles tourism and the marginalization of transsexual women.

Entrance is Free. But space is limited. So come on time!
