Movie of the Month: The Museum
Israel 2017 74 minutes Hebrew, English Translation into Hebrew, English

“The Museum” is a film that observes, investigates and contemplates the most important cultural institution in Israel – the Israel Museum.
The film follows the visitors, watches the watchers, listens to the numbers, goes down to the warehouses, the laboratories and the discussion rooms.
The director of the American museum, the guard who is also a cantor, the Jerusalem curator, the ultra-Orthodox kashrut supervisor, the Palestinian guide and the critic who has lost his sight – these are some of the characters who take part in a series of actions that are ultimately the museum. For over a year and a half, director Ran Tal has collected materials from the museum’s daily routine, an institution that seeks to reflect and shape Israeli memory and culture.
