Ready?
Set.
Go!
Despite a few minor geopolitical delays, we are proud to announce:
When?
Midburn Tzin City will rise from the dust on November 2–7, 2026.
Where?
In the same location: at the foot of Mount Tzin.
How many participants?
We are aiming for a scale similar to last year.
What is the annual “theme”?
This is enough info for one newsletter, we will publish the theme soon
Where do we begin? With the Ten Principles, of course:
Midburn is a temporary city based on participation, creation, gifting, and radical inclusion- principles that first took shape within Burning Man and, over the years, have become a living cultural home for a broad, diverse, and creative community in Israel.
The city disappears after one week as if it had never existed, yet it leaves inspiration in the hearts of thousands- an inspiration that echoes across many areas of life.
This year, once again, we meet a complex reality that changes faster than we can fully process it: war, ceasefire, tension- a constant movement between the pain of war and the hope of life. Sanity and madness. And precisely from within all of this, building the city becomes such a powerful statement: to build, to believe, to live, to create our own reality.
Our city is built through a shared community effort. It is a creative human mosaic, open to everyone, shaped by participation that bursts from the body and soul of each and every one of us; by surrendering to the immediacy of the experience; by leaving no trace behind us except in memory; by gifting without expectation of return; by the opportunity for radical self-expression; by self-reliance and not dependence on others; by civic responsibility toward one another; and by decommodification- no one here is a potential customer, but rather a participant.
The countdown has begun, and how symbolic it is that today, on Lag BaOmer, the festival of fire, we begin counting down:
The Effigy will burn in exactly 184 days.
Just over half a year to create reality anew.
Participation
Our desert city, which will rise this year, is an act of a community rebuilding itself through art, theme camps, human encounters, shared volunteering, and burning transformation.
This is a space where each and every one of us is part of the whole- a living mosaic of creation, giving, and presence.
Midburn is created by the participants, for the participants. There is no production team that creates the content for you. That is why the journey begins here, with the choice of a button. Maybe two?
Each of the following buttons: Art, Camps, Departments – will lead you on a unique and personal journey toward building our city.
Participate with city departments
Register your camp
Register your art project
Except for Departments, the deadline for submitting the forms is:
May 19, 2026 | 23:59
So what’s the timeline?
Announcement: opening of registration for Departments, Camps, and Art – May 5, 2026
Department Participation Sale – July 7, 2026
Content Participation Sale – July 12, 2026
OMG Sale – September 1, 2026
Map Publication – September 20, 2026
DPW arrives on playa – October 14, 2026
Camp and Art Build – October 28, 2026
City Opening – November 2, 2026
Effigy Burn – November 5, 2026
Alongside this announcement, the participation forms are now opening. This city will be built by those who raise a camp, create an art installation, and volunteer in a department. Take part in the doing- through camps, art, and volunteering in the city departments.
In recognition of the significant bureaucratic work they carry, camp leads, department leads, and art leads will receive early access to the pre-sale later this month, according to an allocation key that will be determined. All relevant details will be sent to you directly.
Please note: as you can see, this year’s sales structure is slightly different. All sales revolve around participation, but they will be divided by departments and by content, rather than Participation A + B as was done last year.
Please note that these are the only sales, apart from the OMG Sale, which is expected to be limited, if it takes place at all.
At the same time as the first participation sale, for departments, the international participants’ sale will open. It will remain open for approximately two months, or until the international ticket allocation sells out.
This will be an ongoing sale, intended to allow our friends from overseas to make their arrangements calmly. Please invite them to fill out the international allocation form, which will be published in the coming days.
The Ticketing Department will make every effort to process requests as soon as possible, using a FIFO method.
This year as well, special attention will be given to those who were wounded, those undergoing rehabilitation, survivors of the October 7 events, and those who returned from captivity. We hope to embrace everyone on the playa, and therefore, as we did last year, the ticketing and financial support program will be adapted to the current situation
What about ticket prices?
We are currently validating the budget and working to reduce the ticket price as much as possible, while also enabling as many low-income tickets as possible. The price will be published within the next few weeks, ahead of the upcoming sales.
