Salon Remembrance // Holocaust Remembrance and Heroism Day 2022
For decades, Pesia Bodner, a colorful and special ultra-Orthodox woman, recounted what she went through as a 16-year-old girl who came by train to Auschwitz. How she survived the most horrific atrocities and continued to believe. How she stood in front of the death wall in the camp, waiting for the end, and how she was liberated by Red Army soldiers, immigrated to Israel and started a family.
Pesia died 3 and a half years ago at the age of 91, in the sense that she had defeated Hitler.
On the eve of Holocaust Remembrance and Heroism Day 2022, we will host Pesia’s granddaughter Shira who will take us between the years and stories, we will project Pesia’s fascinating and moving testimony taken three years ago but will stay with us all forever.

במשך עשרות שנים סיפרה פסיה בודנר, אישה חרדית צבעונית ומיוחדת, את מה שעבר עליה כנערה בת 16 שהגיעה ברכבת לאושוויץ. איך שרדה את הזוועות הכי קשות והמשיכה להאמין. איך עמדה מול קיר המוות במחנה, מחכה לסוף, ואיך שוחררה ע״י חיילי הצבא האדום, עלתה לארץ והקימה משפחה.
פסיה נפטרה לפני 3 שנים וחצי בגיל 91, בתחושה שניצחה את היטלר.
בערב יום הזיכרון לשואה ולגבורה 2022, נארח את שירה נכדתה של פסיה שתיקח אותנו בין השנים והסיפורים, נקרין את עדותה המרתקת והמרגשת של פסיה שצולמה לפני שלוש שנים אך תישאר עם כולנו לעד.
