Unique workshop and discussion about WHY, WHAT and HOW Maker City is changing USA and Israel.

Peter Hirshberg is arriving from the US especially in order to explain and discuss his book Maker City and how-to manual for the reinvention of our cities, based on the many experiments seen over the last two years. Experiments in education, workforce development, urban manufacturing, real estate, and civic engagement. We will also host a unique discussion about the role of IoT in smart cities and making.

Peter Hirshberg is a founder of the Maker City Project, the American national organization tasked with helping cities and towns reclaim manufacturing prowess by leveraging the Maker movement. Over 100 cities in the U.S. identified themselves as Maker Cities, as part of a White House initiative to build a nation of makers. Peter also serves as an innovation advisor to cities and companies. He has created two centers of urban innovation from scratch: Maker City Project and Gray Area Foundation for the Arts.

Peter will be touring Israel on October 16-18th, in order to better understand and map the relevant ecosystem in Israel, and think of how the model of the Maker City strategy could be applied in Israel. This visit is sponsored by the generous gist of the Russel Berrie Foundation.
