Hangar 11 - יורדי הסירה 1, Tel Aviv,

To mark International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Koolulam is partnering with ‘One of Nine’, a non-profit that’s been supporting breast cancer patients and their loved ones since 1994. Breast cancer is the number one most common type of cancer among women. Every year approximately 5,000 women are diagnosed in Israel. Early detection can raise the odds of recovery to over 90%. One of Nine works to raise awareness of regular check-ups from as early as 30 years of age. Together, 2,000 participants will sing so that you go and get checked and leave the excuses at home.

Some facts you might have not known:

✊ Breast cancer is the number one cause of death among women.
✊ It is not an ‘old women’ disease: 1,291 young women under the age of 50 have been diagnosed during 2015 alone, which are 24% of all diagnosed women. Breast cancer that appears at a younger age will often be faster and more violent.
✊ Early diagnosis can both save lives and decrease the aggressiveness of the treatments and by this, increase the quality of life before and after recovery.
✊ As of today, our health system has no adequate solution for women in their 30s in terms of early diagnosis.

Koolulam and ‘One in 9’ ask of you to have no fear, take responsibility and do what you have to do. Women from 30 years of age – go get checked. Your life is in your hands!

As always, anyone and everyone is invited to sing with us. With that, Koolulam events are recommended for children ages 8 and up. Are men invited as well?
Of course! This issue is close to our hearts, and to anyone who cares about it and wants to help raise awareness. This is your chance to support the women in your lives and spread the message for them to go get checked. We invite all genders to be part of this effort.
