An opening concert for the new album Bleue

The album features a surprising duet with musician David Byrne (Talking Heads), a musical icon that recorded his own version of Keren Ann’s song a few years ago. A song that without understanding French also manages to distill the feeling of disconnecting a couple, two who made mistakes and have to move on, without guilt and regret, only sadness.

Keren Ann’s life as well as her musical endeavors are in almost constant motion. She was born in Israel, grew up in Holland and France, and after her major breakthrough in France she moved to the US and later spent a few more years in Israel, maintaining a high level of musical activity, albums, touring, Theater, dance, film, television, opera, collaborations with a very wide range of artists in an almost endless musical spectrum – Iggy Pop, Debussy Quartet, Avishai Cohen, Shlomi Shaban, Kostelav, Francoise Hardy and many others.

Her albums have always enjoyed a warm embrace from the public and favorable reviews in the world media and she maintains her high position in the pop world thanks to her favorite songs without stylistic compromise. In her work there has always been a balance between influences between Serge Ginsburg and Bob Dylan, between Carol King and Leonard Cohen. Keren Ann’s songs always manage to convey a feeling of melancholy and deep longing, something very personal that connects to each and every one. A unique combination of blues, classical music and folk music.

Keren Ann returns to Israel to perform in the perfect location for her music – Shoni’s Amphitheater and a special ensemble featuring eight string instruments.
