In 2000 the album was released La Biographie De Luca Philipsen, a debut album sold in excess of one million copies and catapulted his anonymous creator to album titles and singer of the year in France. The Jardin d’Hiver from it became almost instantly a classic. Karen Ann, a native of Israel who spent her youth in France was immediately marked as a composer, writing and performing with deep musical roots and touching and sweeping personal statement.

Three years later, the global breakthrough came with the masterpiece Not Going Anywhere this time in English.

The album has had a tremendous commercial success and visitors’ sympathy. The Anne Foundation began moving on the Paris-New York line and continued to deepen the musical direction of her acoustic, personal, melancholy and aesthetic, acoustic instruments and “angelic” sound arrangements.

Over the next 20 years, she continued her productive musical work including 8 more studio albums, dozens of musical projects, film music, television, opera, dance and theater, musical collaborations with some of the biggest names of our time such as David Byrne, Iggy Pop, Francoise Hardy, and more. And musical production for other artists.

In all this, the Ann Foundation has managed to create another artistic activity base in Israel close to its core. In musical collaborations with Shlomi Shaban (their Hebrew version of Dylan’s “Sweetheart in My Head” became a hit), and Avishai Cohen (and many others). She is constantly visiting, recording and touring the country.

Last year, the BLEUE album released the Ann Ann Foundation with the prestigious composer sacem award.

This February, she will return to the country accompanied by French pianist Mark Schouern and on the occasion of her 20-year career, she will perform favorite songs from different periods in her extensive musical career.
