Ian Anderson, soloist of the rock band Jethro Tal, will arrive in Israel as part of a world tour to mark the band’s 50th anniversary and perform for the band’s biggest hits.
The British ensemble, which flourished in the club scene in England in the late 1960s, brought with it a new sound and captured a large audience over the years, first in England and later in the US and in many countries in the world, including Israel, of course.
The band’s unique sound, which began as a blues-rock ensemble and became an advanced rock ensemble, became one of the original and colorful ensembles that combined different musical styles: rock, classical, traditional English folk, Celtic music, blues and jazz.
Anderson, the charismatic soloist of the band, was known for his non-conventional character, the flute and his playing while standing on one leg.
