The Herzliya Municipality and the Municipal Company for Tourism Development in the city are happy to invite you to a jazz show for the lovers of the genre.

The events will take place on Thursdays every two weeks in July and August, between the hours of 21: 00-19: 30 at the marina.

Session 1: When Classics Meet Jazz – Leonid Ptashka & Friends (4/7)

Leonid Ptashka – Composer, conductor, pianist and Israeli jazz player. Was included in the list of the top 100 jazz musicians of the twentieth century.

On a one-off evening they meet two worlds for a magical evening of music, in musical harmony between classical and jazz and everything in between, improvisations for music by Bach, Mozart and Chopin.

Encounter 2: “The Nappers of the Big Bang” – the Big Band of the 60’s (11/7) A

show that is all ” Hard Bop ” with the blues and rhythm ‘kicking’ style. We will also combine the repertoire of the best jazz literature of the 1940s and 1950s.

The ensemble was founded 10 years ago by conductor and arranger Ziv Ben and trumpeter Roy Berkowitz.

Meeting 3: MY ORCHESTRA (18/7) A

spectacular performance featuring 50 brass players in works by the best jazz composers, Latin music and light music such as: Duke Clinton and Benny Goodman and salute to the leading bands: Kevin, Abba, Beatles And more …

Meeting 4: Jazz & Roll (1/8)

An energetic musical celebration with exciting new arrangements. Jazz versions of pop and rock songs are known from all periods (from Elvis to Nirvana, from the Village People to Tom Jones).
The Jazz and Roll band brings with it a non-standard jazz show that aims to bring the genre closer to the general public. Over eight years of activity, the band has been doing so successfully and without compromising on the musical aspect, arrangements and sound, and is following a large audience, who is returning to hear more.

With: Ella Tadmor (vocals); Omer Rigi (piano and arrangements); Shai Vardi (bass and arrangements); Assaf Dagan (drums).

Session 5: Dixie Band (8/8)

The Israel Dixie Band in a multi-role performance. Some of the best Dixie music of New Orleans and the songs of Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald.
Restoration of the musical funeral parade in the streets of New Orleans with saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, banjo, guitar and … washing board.

With the participation of Avraham Felder (trumpet); Yossi Regev (Trombone); Jack Senney (soprano saxophone); Morton Kam (tenor saxophone and clarinet); Paul Moore (vocals and a washboard); Aharoni Ben Ari (Banjo); Shay Buksbaum (Tova); Amir David (drums); Nissim Yemini (vocals).

Session 6: A festive end performance (15/8)

A special source for the festival – a group of leading Israeli musicians including 3 singers: Eden Holan, Vered Dekel and Chen Levi.
Saxophone, percussion, piano, bass and drums in a lively performance that combines Brazilian music with jazz.

Among the songs to be performed: Desafinado, Wave, One Note Samba, The Girl from ipenema, Corcovado and Brazilian-style adaptations of jazz songs of all time.
