World music and jazz artist Itamar Erez is coming to Israel for a series of performances for the first time in several years and on the occasion of the launch of the new album ‘May Song’ which was released these days!

Since 2015 Itamar has been living and creating in Vancouver, Canada and this is a rare opportunity to hear him here in Israel.
Itamar’s music carries a depth and sensitivity that touches listeners deeply. He combines the delicacy of Middle Eastern music, the freedom found in jazz and the passion of flamenco, creating his own unique sound.
Recipient of the 2014 ACUM Award for Special Achievement in Jazz and the prestigious Landau Award for 2014, Itamar Erez is an internationally renowned composer and guitarist who has shared the stage with musicians such as Omar Farouk Takbilek, Jean-Louis Metignier, Zohar Fresco and others.
His previous CD “Mi Alegria” was released in June 2019 with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, and received enthusiastic reviews, both in Israel and internationally, including a nomination for the Instrumental Artist of the Year 2020 award from the Canadian Folk Music Awards.
In recent years (before Corona), Itamar performed in Canada, USA, Germany, Greece, Holland, Austria, Cyprus, Israel, India, Tunisia, Hungary, Colombia and Suriname, among others. Itamar made his debut at Carnegie Hall (NY) in April 2018 In concert with the Omar Faruk Tekbilek Ensemble with Ara Dinjkian and Brian Keane as special guests.
In 2022, Itamar was chosen to present his quartet at the ‘JazzAhead’ music conference in Bremen (Germany), and presented a 45-minute set of his original music.

חתן פרס אקו”ם להישג מיוחד בג’אז לשנת 2014 ופרס לנדאו היוקרתי לשנת 2014, איתמר ארז הוא מלחין וגיטריסט בעל שם בינלאומי שחלק את הבמה עם מוזיקאים כמו עומר פארוק טקבילק, ז’אן-לואי מטינייה, זוהר פרסקו ואחרים.
הדיסק הקודם שלו “Mi Alegria” יצא ביוני 2019 בתמיכת מועצת קנדה לאמנויות, וזכה לביקורות נלהבות, הן בארץ ובעולם, כולל מועמדות לפרס האמן האינסטרומנטלי של השנה 2020 מה Canadian Folk Music Awards.
בשנים האחרונות (טרום קורונה) הופיע איתמר בין השאר בקנדה, ארה”ב, גרמניה, יוון, הולנד, אוסטריה, קפריסין, ישראל, הודו, תוניסיה, הונגריה, קולומביה וסורינאם. איתמר ערך את הופעת הבכורה שלו בקרנגי הול (NY) באפריל 2018 בהופעה עם אנסמבל Omar Faruk Tekbilek עם Ara Dinjkian ובריאן Keane כאורחים מיוחדים.
בשנת 2022 איתמר נבחר להציג את הרביעייה שלו בכנס המוזיקה ‘JazzAhead’ בברמן (גרמניה), והציג סט של 45 דקות של המוזיקה המקורית שלו.
