When reflecting on his work, the great Edward Hopper once said, “if you could say it in words, there would be no reason to paint.” In this art class we will use acrylic paints to explore our thoughts and inspirations by attempting to capture on canvas everything we cannot say in words. In simpler terms, we will paint some of life’s beauty, hardships and silliness! We will gather inspiration from the greats, ranging from Van Gogh to Rothko. Through understanding techniques such as Van Gogh’s brushstroke, Rothko’s color method and Monet’s landscapes, we will find our own unique form of expression. Acrylics are a continuious process and through practice and curiosity, you will find that creating art will make your life more complete and satisfying. Whether you are just searching for a friendly, warm enviornment to continue your art practice or you are brand new to painting, all levels are welcome. No previous art expierence needed!
