‘IF’ is a question—a game between fantasy and reality.
The Italian translation for the word “if” is “se”.
On one hand, the word se in Italian is referred to as the hypothetical question that it creates, as well as the desire it may express.
Additionally, the word se’ references one’s self.
In ‘IF’, the performer investigates how something imaginary feels real— becomes true.
The aim was to create something that would not follow the “choreographic rules” that define space, dynamics and structure. But, trusting the use of the body as a vessel to process, elucidate and transmit emotions.
The creator is interested in understanding how, within the body, there can coexist the innerworld of one’s being with the outside reality.
