NBN TLV - Rothschild 74, Tel Aviv,

Join us for our Sunday HuBrunch: Olim Midabrim! This months presenter is Howie Mischel who will be speaking about Sar-El, the National Project for Volunteers for Israel, stations volunteers on IDF bases across the country.

Sar-El volunteers are in uniform and perform non-combat support duties, working alongside regular soldiers, helping Israel shoulder its defense burden. By working on an army base, Olim will be offered a unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge of an important component of Israeli life, raising the morale of the soldiers with whom they will work, and at the same time make a meaningful contribution to their new homeland. The program offers volunteer opportunities for one, two or three week segments.

Howie Mischel is a veteran of the U.S. public finance industry. In a career spanning more than three decades, he held managerial positions at several major financial institutions in New York and Boston. Following aliyah from New York in 2009, during the past decade he has worked as an aliyah adviser at Nefesh B’Nefesh and with several start-up companies. Howie lives with his wife Terry in Modi’in, has four married children and is the proud grandfather of eighteen. His first volunteer experience with Sar-El was in 1987.

We will have a delicious brunch and hear from an Oleh and Tel Aviv Hub member with a unique perspective and professional expertise. The goal of this series is to give Olim the space and opportunity to speak about their experiences and skills and share what they have learned along the way.
