The “Hagigah” series returns to Haezor club and this time hosts the guitarist Nitzan Bar !!

The band has just returned from a tour in China. In the past, the ensemble played at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival (2017), the Eilat Festival (2007-2017), the Paris Festival (2010) and much more.

Hagigah was founded in 2001 by Alon Farber and Danny Benedikt, and the band released three CD’s, two of which were in the company Fresh Sound of Spain, which was released a year ago and hosted by the percussionist Joca Perpignan

The music of the “celebration” crosses genres – the ensemble can range from a New York swing to Moroccan music, Indian music to punk. Chagiga “has developed its original sound over the years, a sound that stems from the unique personality of each player and ensemble, and the music of” Hagigah “draws inspiration from the music of artists such as jazz Messengers, Wayne Shorter and Charlie Mingus.

“The Israeli saxophonist Alon Farber is a sopranist particularly engaged in the jazz scene of his country. The formation that sees him involved mainly as a composer is his Hagiga sextet where he is flanked by two other winds (alto saxophone and trombone), piano and rhythm. The album New Directions is co-produced by Dani Benedikt, a member of the line-up that also signs two tracks. The ensemble moves with confidence through the songs of the leader, a modern jazz in the language but traditional in the instrumental treatment without electronic grafts. Among the most interesting pieces of the album we point out New Direction Suite and Minuet for Maya”
